It is a comfortable western style business & leisure hotel with many spacious, clean and quiet suites and rooms which all have large bathrooms, quality linens and towels. Beds are cozy and large, and an extra bed is available in most rooms in Sheraton Xian Hotel. Nonsmoking room is also available. Its staff has been trained very well. They are friendly, polite and helpful, and most of them can speak very good English. Breakfast was great - plenty of choices and a good standard.

Soluxe Shazhou Hotel is the most luxury hotel in Dunhuang City. It is conveniently located, so you can easily walk anywhere, particularly to Shazhou Market for food and shopping. Rooms new and pleasantly decorated. The splash of rich colors made it look modern. This is not a 5 star international hotel by any means, but it is a decent choice. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom was large and clean, with tub. The free breakfast served a large variety of buffet style food, even with an egg station. It is 14km from the airport, and 12km from the train station.

Dunhuang Tianrun International Hotel

Location: downtown Zhangye, about 38 km, 1 hour’drive to Danxia Landform Geopark; about 60km, 1 hour and 20 minutes to Mati Temple by car; less than 500 meters to Giant Buddha Temple.

2. Zhangye Huachen International Hotel 张掖华辰国际大酒店（4 Star）

Location: about 1 km, 15 minutes’ walking to Bell & Drum Tower; about 1.7km, 25 minutes’ walk to Giant Buddha Temple; about 40km, 1 hour’s drive to Danxia Landform Geopark; within 1.5 hours’ to Mati Temple.

3. Zhangye Liangmao Hotel 张掖粮贸宾馆 (comfort hotel)

Location: about 40 km, 1 hour to Danxia Landform by car; less than 1.5km, 20 minutes to Giant Buddha by walking, and 500 meters to Bell & Drum Tower; about 60km, 1hour and 20 minutes to Mati Temple by car.

4. Holiday Inn Express Zhangye 张掖智选假日酒店

Location: Northwest of City Center, about 5km/15 minutes’ ride to Giant Buddha Temple; nearly 40km, 1 hour’s driving to Danxia Landform Geopark; 60 km, 1hour & 20 minutes to Mati Temple by car.

Location: No. 2, Xiongguan West Road, Jiayuguan City嘉峪关市雄关西路2号

Distance: It is located in the downtown area, about 4km to Jiayuguan Pass/Fortress, 8km to the First Strategic Post and 9km to Xuanbi Great Wall.

Service: Free wifi and parking lot are provided for the customers with nice restaurants, bars, and gardens. There is a tourist information counter and a 24-hour reception for room service and foreign currency exchange service. Airport transfer service is also provided with an extra fee. Customers need to check in between 14:00 and 18:00 and check out before 12:00 on the day you are ready to leave.
