Day 1 Beijing Arrival Airport or Railway Station Pick Up

Welcome to Beijing, the iconic city as well as the capital of China!

You will be met by your local tour guide at the arrival hall of Beijing Capital Airport, or railway station, then be escorted to check in your hotel in downtown by a private comfortable vehicle. The rest of today is on your own to relax. If you want to explore nearby, feel free to get some practical suggestions from your tour guide.

Arrival Ideas: At present, there are many international and domestic flights to Beijing. Besides, you can take a high speed train to this capital city from Shanghai (5-6 hrs), Xi'an (5.5 hrs), Guangzhou (8-9.5 hrs), etc.

Day 2 Beijing – Great Wall (B, L) Tiananmen Square - Forbidden City - Summer Palace

After breakfast, start to explore the historical face of Beijing with a brief visit to Tiananmen Square, now the largest city plaza in the world. Tiananmen Gate on the northern side of the square was the site where Chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China.

Stepping into the Tiananmen, you will see one of the world's five most important palaces - Forbidden City, a huge palace complex of more than 9,000 rooms where 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties lived. Pass through various doorways in this magnificent structure to admire the beautiful and well-preserved buildings decorated with yellow-glazed tile roofs, white marble bases and splendid colorful paintings. After Forbidden City exploration, take a short visit to Jingshan Park where you can get a nice shot of one watchtower of Forbidden City and take a panoramic view of Forbidden City.

After lunch, drive to the outskirts of Beijing to spend an enjoyable time in the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. Stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and corridors while feasting your eyes on the vast lotus in Kunming Lake and the colorful paintings in the Long Corridor.

Optional activities: 1. You can watch a wonderful Kungfu Show in the Red Theater (Hong Ju Chang) which usually starts at 19:30; 2. Enjoy the classic Chinese art performance of Beijing Opera at Liyuan Theater during 19:30-21:00.

Day 3 Beijing (B, L) Mutianyu Great Wall - Chunhuiyuan

This morning, you will drive about 70km (about 1.5 h) to witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World - Great Wall. The less-crowded Mutianyu, a well-preserved segment of Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty, lives up to all of your nice expectations. You'll take a cable car to ascend the Great Wall, then hike the most beautiful and interesting part of Mutianyu. It's a wonderful experience to climb up its rising towers to enjoy scenic views and take brag-worthy photos of the wall wriggling along mountain ridges. After the exciting time, descend Mutianyu Great Wall by cable car. (Note: If energy permits, you can hike up or down which takes about 40 minutes to climb steps. Please tell your likes to your travel consultant.)

After Great Wall exploration, drive to relax your body in a Chunhuiyuan which is a beautiful resort of hot spring with beautiful natural views of surrounding as well as modern accommodation and dinning facilities. It is located on the bank of Wenyu River in Shunyi District, 20 miles north of Beijing. Its hot springs, with a comfortable temperature around 60 degrees, are ones of the best around Beijing which originate from the steam 1,800 meters under the ground, and full of naturally formed minerals which are good for bodily rehabilitation and relaxation. Spa is also available in the resort.

Day 4 Jundushan Ski Resort (B) Full-day skiing in Jundushan Ski Resort at the suburb of Beijing

After breakfast in resort, drive about 25 km (about 45 mins) to Jundushan Ski Resort which is time-honored and one of the best ski resorts in Beijing with advantages of quality snow, flexible choices of ski tracks, considerate services. Here you can enjoy skiing, snowboard, riding sleds, inner tubes and snowmobiles, etc. Jundushan has multiple slopes for both beginners and intermediate skiers. Short lines on the easy hills make this a good place for beginners who will especially appreciate the conveyor belt lift if it’s your first time on skis. The top of the advanced hill has about 50 meters of moguls served by a disc lift. The fast turn-around time makes this a great place to perfect your mogul technique. The next stretch of hill is long and super steep. It reduces all but the most advanced skiers to big S curves.

Skiing package – our tour include a 6-hour ski plan covering ski resort entrance ticket, one set of ski equipment, cable car, towing device and usage of ski tracks. Skiing Suits, helmet, Ski goggles, Ski goggles, Snow Ring should be brought on your own, or rented in the resort. Skiing training course is available, which requires extra payment. If you want to ski more time, or want to enjoy in optional activities in the ski resort, please consult the resort staff or your tour guide.

Day 5 Beijing Departure (B, L) Temple of Heaven - Hutong - Beijing Departure

After breakfast, drive to the imperial site – Temple of Heaven. It was originally used to pay homage to Heaven and pray for harvest, now becomes a bustling place for locals to take part in traditional activities, such as Tai Chi, dancing, kite flying, water calligraphy, etc.

Then, hop on a rickshaw to experience Beijing Hutongs - small alleys made of neighboring quadrangle dwellings. Shuttle among different Hutongs to feel the old Beijing life style, meet various antique shops and small boutiques, feel the historical changes of Beijing, and also pay a visit to a local family's home in the traditional Hutongs. After Hutong local family visit, you will be given a class of China's Traditional Paper Cutting at Hutong area, and learn to cut some common motifs and characters under the instruction of a skillful Paper Cutting teacher.

Your Beijing tour is now about to end. Your tour guide will escort you to catch your flight/train to next destination.

Group tours mean you'll travel by tour bus to various attractions within the same city. Groups are typically 2-16 people, and we'll arrange vehicles with 5-38 seats depending on the group size. Our buses are spacious and comfortable, with ample luggage space. For transportation between the two locations, we'll arrange domestic flights (economy class) or high-speed trains (second class, usually no more than 6 hours). A local driver will pick you up at the airport/train station and escort you to your hotel.

For passengers on Yangtze River cruises, the cruise will provide a relaxing and enjoyable journey, including comfortable accommodations from Chongqing to Yichang. For passengers traveling to Mount Everest and Mount Kailash trekking in Tibet, accommodations are more basic. You will stay at the Everest Base Camp camp or a youth hostel. You will share a standard twin room (two beds) with your travel companions. Sharing a room is ideal if you are a family of two. If you wish to have your own room, you will need to pay a single room surcharge.
