7:00 - 8:00 Hotel Pick-up
In the morning, your professional guide will wait for you in the hotel lobby. The tour guide will confirm with you the exact time one day before your Beijing day trip starts. If you haven't received the pick-up message before 20:00, contact your exclusive travel consultant anytime via phone or WeChat. We have your back 24 hour.
8:00 - 11:30 Drive to Visit Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City
Now let's start this Beijing day tour from the city's core area - Tiananmen Square. Follow your guide to take a morning walk around the largest city square in the world, and you can shoot distant view photos of the brilliant landmark buildings such as the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Great Hall of the People.
Walk through the Gate of Heavenly Peace with the great Chairman Mao's portrait on it, we come to this morning's highlight - the 600-year-old Forbidden City - the largest and the most intact imperial palace complex of the Ming and Qing Courts (1368 - 1911 AD).
The majestic Forbidden City has 9,999 rooms! Which are the most essential and interesting parts? Our veteran itinerary designer carefully selects the top 10 palaces for you, including major ones on the traditional central axis, and some special chambers on the east and west wings.
11:30 - 13:00 Drive to Mutianyu Great Wall
During the 1.5 hours' driving, the knowledgeable guide will share with you some historical facts and less-known titbits about the next spot - the Great Wall of China.
13:00 - 16:00 Explore Mutianyu Great Wall
All the Great Wall sights are located far from the city center and lack decent restaurants. We have no detours to the restaurants and leave you enough time on the Great Wall to make the most out of your time.
As one of the best-preserved sections of China Great Wall, Mutianyu is popular for its distinctive watchtowers and breathtaking natural scenery. You will have plenty time to climb the wall and take nice photos. The histories and stories of this world wonder shared by your professional tour guide will make your Great Wall experience more interesting and unforgettable.
16:00 - 17:30 Drive Back to Downtown
It usually takes about one and a half hour to drive back downtown Beijing. You can massage your legs gently and take a brief rest with your eyes closed in the car to recover from the fatigue of climbing the Great Wall.
17:30 - 17:50 Photo Stop at Olympic Bird's Nest
On the way, we will drive by the National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, where you can take nice photos of its unique appearance.
17:50 - 18:30 Nanluoguxiang Hutong & Hotel Drop-off
Our last stop today is the lively Nanluoguxiang Hutong. With lots of boutique shops, cafes, a few pubs and restaurants, this hutong area is a great place to spend some time leisurely to feel the charms of old alleyways in Beijing, and also try the local food and snacks for your dinner. If you are interested, you can explore it at your own pace and return to the hotel by yourself. Your tour guide will offer you directions for getting back to the hotel.
If you prefer not to tour the Hutong area, your guide will take you back to the hotel after dropping the others off there. Hope you have enjoyed this day trip from Beijing to the Great Wall. Wish you a nice dream tonight!
